On a secretive note, Apple is currently working with a battery manufacturing company in China to come up with an excellent automotive battery. Previously, in 2013, Apple proudly announced its venture in the automotive industry by making a self-driving interface for driverless cars.

Based on the same announcement, Apple is slowly but steadily heading towards a significant development of a car battery with the aid of the Chinese company. The research and development are going on for quite a few years. This electric vehicle project has involved a Chinese battery giant named Contemporary Amperex Technology Ltd. (CATL). It is situated in Fujian province in China.

The confidential agreement and extremely hush-hush project have been reported by Yicai Global based in Shanghai. As per the report, the leading smart phone giant is working with the battery giant relentlessly to become an admirable part of the self-driven battery-operated cars in the future.

The car project, as mentioned earlier, was announced by Apple four years back but the smart phone giant confined its development to itself. Any kind of version is not reported to be showcased by Apple till date but a significant development process is going on for sure.

CATL is an independent manufacturer of batteries after it separated itself from Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) who is the main supplier of electronic goods of Apple.

Both the giants have not disclosed any kind of news that signifies the current project development. In fact, CATL did not respond by not commenting when asked regarding the secret project with Apple.

Apple also did not comment on any kind of collaboration or a project that has been undertaken under the supervision of the Chinese company. In fact, no significant news made it to the public after the declaration of Apple’s self-driven car project in 2013. If the news is true then it will be a significant development towards an environment-friendly initiative from the brand.
