You are looking at a picture and you would not believe that such place could exist on earth and you convince yourself that the picture is photo shopped. Some places leave an impact on us that they are beyond our reach, that they are out of this world because our imaginations tell us that such places can only be fantasized, can only be imagined. But to our surprise, our planet always pops up with a bombshell to keep us amazed and amused. Our planet is full of surreal and out-of-this-world kind of places.

Painted Dunes of Lassen Volcanic National Park, California

The dunes painted in red and orange originated out of oxidised layers of volcanic ash, lie in the shadow of Cinder Cone Volcano.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

It happens to be the most beautiful place on earth which is the world’s largest salt flat that contains 10 billion tons of salt.

Lake Natron, Monduli, Tanzania

Beautiful red waters capable of mesmerising the eyes that set on it. This Salt Lake surely looks beautiful but it’s infernal 120-degree temperatures and dangerously low pH levels make it less of a vacation spot.

Glowworm Caves, Waitomo, New Zealand

The caves illuminating is due to the bioluminescent larvae that leave long-string mucus and glow like a subterranean Milky Way.

Wulingyuan Scenic Area, Zhangjiajie, China

Anything to describe the beauty of this place will be an understatement. Nature’s version of sky scrapers these are. They are a thousands of sandstone pillars, out of which some are even taller than the Empire State Building’s midpoint.

Jökulsárlón, Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland

This frozen beach and glacial lake are considered as the natural wonder of Iceland. The black volcanic sands provide a stark backdrop for the the chunks of ice that wash ashore.

Socotra, Yemen

The Dragon’s Blood Trees look like the UFOs on earth and make the land of Socotra like it is not a part of earth but is transported from some other world.
